received a very nice compliment today while i was at wildfire eating dinner with linz. a server (who i haven't even talked to one on one that much, if at all, to be honest) came up to me and said "you know, (another server) and i were talking the other night when you were controlling[sat night--the night we were short 2 hosts and it was super hectic!!]...we both think it's so great that you always have a smile on your face and have a great attitude. it's a really good thing for the customers and the servers" or something like that.
it was very surprising, first of all, to be hearing it from this server. and also very refreshing to know that a smile and an optimistic attitude can make that much of an impression. it was also good to hear that i'm able to put on a calm, happy face even when i'm freaking out as much as i was last saturday when we were short, super busy, and running behind a lot of the night.
moral of the story: smile. and genuinely compliment peple. two of the easiest, but often most overlooked things in our hectic lives.
